Things I'd like to see Saturday...

  • 1. Palardy hit a 40+ yard FG
    2. Offense run the ball consistently between the tackles.
    3. 3rd down conversion rate over 50%
    4. Good communication between coaches and players, no wasted timeouts.
    5. Marlin Lane take a punt 15+ yards
    6. Defense allow less then 4 yards a rush
    7. Tyler Bray completion % over 55%

I think these are all obtainable. Palardy, Darr, Couch, Bullard, and of course the freshman LB's are the one's I will be closely watching...

Feel free to add to my list, I am sure there are other small things you guys want to see come out of this game. For instance a kick-off into the end zone?? But that's just wishful thinking.

  • 3rd down and 6+ is what I'm looking for...

  • No turnovers or plays 20+ yards against our D.

  • No turnovers or at least none that cost us points.

  • This kinda goes in line with Bray's completion percentage and third +6, but I'm anxious to see how our mid range passing game works out. I assume we'll see several short passes and screens to start with, as well as a few deep balls scattered throughout the game, but our 10-15 yard slants and posts are where I feel like we'll get the best gauge on Bray's abilities to pick the defense apart and make solid quick reads.

Totally agree. I want to see Da'Rick be a physical presence and catch balls over the middle in that 8-15 yard range.

  • This... last season we went three to four games before we converted a third and 6+. Im excited to see the FR LBs, Brays progression, OLs progression, and of coursethe DL.

That was my biggest problem with Simms at QB. He would either hold the ball too long, throw into coverage or throw it away. And in his defense, too often the line didn't give him much time.

Very much in agreeance with you about the line not giving him a lot of time. I think he's probably a terrific kid to have as a backup QB.

Don't get me started on Simms holding the ball too long. My wife left the room a few times because of me yelling @ the TV because of Simms lol

@hdrizzle..if Bray gets 55% completion percentage, I'm real happy. I want to see Rivera with at least 5 receptions (dragging across the middle especially). I want to Fugate get the rock in at least 2-3 short yardage situations and convert

Amen to all that. If we get the tight end involved, Rogers and Hunter will have a field day

I'd be happy if that list is fulfilled. Also hope we see some good, solid tackling.

  • 1. Jacques Smith with 3 sacks
    2. Maggitt and Johnson destroy people like big Al Wilson and Learnod Little used too.
    3. Bray throw for over 200yds
    4. Poole rush for over 100yds

  • I want to see solid offensive line play. I am one of those that believe offensive lines wins football games. Open the holes, protect the QB, all leads to wins.

    PaVolsFan

  • add positive number in the turn overs.
no scores in the last minutes of 1st half.
Shut out in the 4th quarter--finish stronger than we start
limit the big play on defense.

  • Wanna see production from a no.3 reciever.

    tsams45

  • A complete shutdown by the 1st team defense. We have an offense but the progress of the defense will define this season. Good thread.

    tnbear66

  • I would like to see long clock draining drives. This takes Montana's fast offence out of the picture, and gives the young guys more prep for the next drive vs their offence.
