Thread for Lady Vols News ...5-20-13 New Commit

Since Ryan and co.. don't really cover the ladies I figured I would start a thread and try and keep up with the comings and goings with the Lady Vols. Anyone feel free to post...
The Lady Vols currently have 3 commitments for the 2013 class..
#1 Mercedes Russell 6-5 Post out of Oregon
#8 Jannah Tucker 6-0 G out of Maryland
#42 Jordan Reynolds 5-11 G out of Oregon
In their first exhibition game the Lady Vols won 104 -44. Meghan Simmons led five scorers in double figures with 24. Newcomer Basharra Graves had 17 points and 15 rebounds .
Next exhibition game is 11/4 at 2pm and the season opener is 11/9 against UTC

Appreciate this Atomic! Coach Warlick has a very solid class! Many experts feel that Reynolds is much, much better than her ranking! Watched exhibition game online and Jasmine Jones and B. Graves are players! Loved the uptempo style! GBO!

The ladies blew out Div. II Coker today 118-44 and were led by Basharra Graves with 22. Meghan Simmons had 20 points 9 Rebounds and 7 assists. Harrison, Spani, Williams, and Burdick were all in double figures too. Season starts Friday at UTC.

How highly recruited were our returning players that will play this year (i.e. how talented are we now)?

Ariel Massingale and Jasmine Phillips have missed both exhibition games so far but may both play in the opener Friday. Massingale is probably a definite go unless less something major were to happen, but Phillips with here quad injury is still not known

Andraya Carter seems like a really nice person. Soft but well-spoken, and seems like she's got a level head on her shoulders. Plus she's a very good basketball player. Can't wait to see what she does this season!

Not to mention, we finally have a legit point guard in Massengale! A year's worth of experience under her belt, I think she'll be a breakout candidate this year. But we haven't had a true point guard since what's her name that ran the point when Candace Parker was here.
