Thurs night conundrum....

USC or Vandy.....
Vandy winning would dramatically help the SEC East race. Pinning the Cocks with an early loss would be a blow to their repeat bid.
However, a Vandy win will perpetuate the James Franklin genius routine and recruiting edge.
I think I am leaning towards hoping for a USCEAST beat down of the anchor down boys......

Sorry guys I can't pull for the old ball coach to win at anything. I have honestly tried before. I just can't do it. Maybe they will tie and play 150 overtimes then just give up.

Okay, I think I may have reacted with my heart rather than my brain. If Vandy can win 7 games, I think Franklin gets a job offer from a better football program (you know like SMU, Fresno State...Prairie View...or something) and he's out of there. Clay Travis will either be heartbroken or moving and Vanderbilt will continue to be Vanderbilt.

Franklin has already proven he can recruit. If he proves he can coach that talent as well he will become a highly sought after coach IMO. If a HC spot opened up at any "elite" program his name will come up. I would be surprised if some of these programs can't afford his buyout. And as much as i would love to see it, I don't see him leaving Vandy for any program that's not a perennial contender in an elite conference.
I know this won't be a popular thought but I would be curious to see how many people start mentioning Franklin's name IF, I said IF, Dooley were fired.

You want UGA, USCe and FL to lose every game they play as they are our main competition every year. The order might change each year but that would be my order this year. UT can out recruit Vandy every year and beat them too based on history. Even the recruiting rankings this year right now........Vandy would love to switch places with us now and on NSD.
I would love UGA and USCe to lose 2-3 other SEC games this year + have to play us. We would have an unbel chance to go to Atlanta a 2nd time.........plus steal a few recruits.

I will pull for S Carolina because I can't stand that prick James Franklin- before he came along I would pull for Vandy in every game but one. This has nothing to do with being scared or threatened. I just can't stand his cockiness and his behavior. He will never win big at Vandy and will be out the door the first chance he gets. In fact, he tried to leverage himself for the UNC position last year.
As far as helping us- if we take care of our business on the field we don't need help.

Not a bad idea really, pretty sure they'd understood where you were coming from though. I laughed for a few minutes anyhow. I want Vandy to lose no question. Can you imagine them winning and by some cataclysm we lost to NC State?

Gotta pull for Vandy...
Cannot make myself yell Go Cocks...that just sounds wrong.
Though on a funny note: a friend of mine freshman year had her mom come up to Knoxville for the SC game and me being a total foreigner was floored when this lady older than my mom says: "HOW ABOUT THEM COCKS?"
You can imagine where my mind went...lol
