Time to rename the street...

  • I like naming the street after the guy who actually won a National Championship here.

  • Just because the guy doesn't want to take a job here doesn't mean we should forget he exists. I'm sure Tee feels personally like VFL, after all he won a National Championship here, but in the BUSINESS of college football, this just isn't the right time. Someday, maybe it will be.

    Well, I agree, but I thought then and still think now that Al Wilson had more to do with that NC than any other single player.

  • If you are going to name a street after somebody then it should be named after somebody that is a Vol for Life.

    Jay Graham was coaching a potential Heisman Trophy running back and came here and took over a dumpster fire at the running back position.

    I have no objections if Tee had come out in the beginning and stated that he was committed and wanted to stay at USC. My objection was this several week long flirtation with his alma mater and then at the end, say thanks but no thanks. it makes him look like the hung out UT for a pay raise.

    It is Vol for life, not Vol only when it is convenient.

    just wondering why is tee martins fault we could have hired him last year and dooley didnt even contact

    him..so tee would have taken the job..so thank dooley for that ..just many things he has f***d this program out of...street name has the right name..he helped win us a nc..manning couldnt do it
    so well deserved..and thanks AL WILSON as some below brought up..he was a beast and had a hand it

    so dooley would be the cause of this imo..now when kiffin gets run out next year and we can hire him
    that would be the time to get tee back..which by turning us down..the train might have ran and its just not meant to be right now...if tee was single this would b a no brainer..with family its about the family

    so lets retain hinshaw if not ..im sure jones will find some 1 to help..if not jones can coach wide recievers
    it will work out ..its not the end of the world...vfl

  • I am guessing many of the people blasting Tee's decision to stay in LA are not married. Some things are more important than your career, especially if your on the road recruiting and at work 60+ hrs a week.
    Don't get me wrong I would have loved to see TM back in orange being prepped for the OC or maybe HC job one day, but we must have perspective and realize that our life doesn't revolve around what school we went too.

    there is a huge difference between being a Vol for Life and keeping your household in tact. Your wife and kids come before your football family. If Tee didnt have anything holding him to USC he would have come back without even visiting. He wanted his wife to see everything about UT and what it would be like living here. Obviously she didnt like it.

    Dude really your acting like Tennessee will never get another committment from a high school player again because Tee said thanks but no thanks. Tennessee will be fine without Tee they may not get some recruits but we do have a couple of good recruiters here in Thigpen and Martinez so don't hate because of a business decision made by Tee.
