    Some people are always going to want to fire the coach. Sometimes they are right, but they are not always right.

    Remember that next fall the first time the Vols have to punt, which is about when the Fire Butch crowd will start up.

    Sad but true. I shouldn't apologize for supporting Dooley, just defending him. It's my duty as a Vol fan to support our coaches and I will always do that until given a reason not to. Losing does not necessarily warrant nonsupport for me but refusing to try and win does. That's when my eyes were opened. I am now a full blown bUTch supporter. I really haven't had this kind of feeling since the Fulmer days. I almost, kinda, dare I say, expect to win. It's CBJ's fault, coming in here with all of that Championship talk. I'm in! GO VOLS!

  • For the record I never thought KiffEn was anywhere near a good fit. I really thought Dooley could pull it out - until he ran the clock out vs. Mizwho, at which time I turned to my son and said, "He's on his own."

    I have a much better feeling this time.

    That 2012 offense was one of the greatest ever at Tennessee, but that season will get remembered for 5-7, terrible defense, and Dooley jumping out of the closet saying, "surprise freakers, I just stole 5 million dollars from your butt."

    I'm with ya...I thought Dooley was the guy, but when Dooley ran out the clock I turned to my son and said that's it he's done. The more I hear about him since he left the less and less I like him. Butch seems to be pushing all the right button. I hope he's the right guy. I guess we will find out in Sept. everything else is just hype if he doesn't win. I sure hope he does!

    I was at that game and as soon as he took it to over time I just got up and left and didn't stay for the rest of it I was done with him that day and so glad he's gone

  • I can honestly say I got off the Dooley bandwagon in plenty of time. That being said, I was among the last on the dump Dooley train. I questioned

    1. Whether we could financially afford to pay the buyouts
    2. Whether we could upgrade under the circumstances

    I believe I was wrong on #2. Jury is still out on #1.

    I'm right there with you, ONC. I always seem to hang on too long....tried to give him the benefit of the doubt...But the end of regulation in the Missouri game did it for me. I was throwing things at the TV!! That was indefensible....There I go...working myself into another frenzy over it! Butch Jones has been a breath of fresh air. Dare I say it ? .... I actually have some hope things are turning around. GBO!!!

  • Coach Jones is really getting me excited. Just to see all the letterman buying in is awesome. Spoke with Jamal Lewis on Friday in Gatlinburg and he couldn't stop bragging on Jones, it got even better after he spent the day at practice Saturday. He swears by the man and he's never seen him coach a game.....
