Its not a stupid question until you ask it.

  • I like Quinn and Carr as well, Carr has a motor that we haven't seen at UT since Harrelson was on the hill. Quinn has a Jason Whitten type style that suits CBJ's offense..I can't wait to see what they can do..GBO!!

  • How many kids did we get out of South Carolina this Year? We shouldnprobably just build a fence around that state as well. ;-)

Typically SC has been recognized as the DL breeding grounds. Perry, McGlockton and Haynesworth to name a few; We are seeing what a difference maker Clowney is in just his 2nd year. If UT can start recruiting SC like they did in the 90's-2000's UT could rebound much faster than expected. I guess it's in the water down there, but for some reason they produce monster DL year after year.

  • of the sleepers listed, i like Miller the most. You cannot deny that kind of productivity. The one that i am most concerned about is Lee. I think, pre-injury, he certainly looked the part. But had no real production after his knee injury the first game of his senior year. I know the knee was scoped, but i havent seen any description of how significant the injury was, whether it was cartilage or ligament, etc..If he returns to pre-injury form, then we got a steal.

  • No question that the offense reloaded at WR, TE, and QB. I really hope Jabo is the offensive sleeper. We need a RB to surprise. Of course, the QB needs to be surprisingly effective too. Fortunately, both of those positions will have the HUGE help of one of the best OL's in the nation.

If I had to pick on defensive sleeper, I would hope for Riyahd to be the one. We really need a lock-down corner who can cover and ball-hawk. Of course, there's only so much the secondary can do if the DL doesn't pressure the QB and plug the run. So much starts with the DL.

Will be an interesting spring. Can't wait to hear who impresses the new staff! Vols!!

Miller would be my #1 bet too.

For some reason I will go with Lemond Johnson as an EE too if BR is not 100% this year too. He could get some real PT at FS with McNeil and JRM at SS. Maybe BMoore goes to the nickel or one of our SSs.....I just like what I have heard about Johnson as a competitor and athlete.

  • I think UT should look at more Juco players. Particular on the west coast in the western state conference. There are a lot of good talent out there.

  • Charlie High is my sleeper. It is amazing to me that a QB with his ungodly numbers and football intellect walked on at Tennessee. The kid has a chip on his shoulder. Rusty Bradley has coached a the division one level and is adamant that High can play at this level. Look out Dobbs and Ferguson, this isn't your typical walk-on.

I think it's a given that UT takes 2-3 JUCO OL next class. Signing 3 OL in 2 years is leaving them with a gap at that position. Read Ryan's article - good stuff.

    And welcome to the board!

Ok 87, I gave you an UpVote just for your bravado. What an interesting story it would be to see High surpass Ferguson and Dobbs!

  • And to be honest, I would be shocked. It really is amazing that we signed two of the Elite Eleven QB's.

I diagree I don't think JUCO OL will be a pressing concern, I think they will take 4-5 OL but I dont think it will be JUCO.Maybe 1. Now I could see them searching the JUCO ranks for a couple D-Lineman because TN loses alot of D-Lineman next year and that is the most difficult position for a Freshman (DT) to come in and play.
