I look it a lot like a great investor looks at an investment. The coaches have a set of criteria and numbers that they make as well as other physical attributes and then of course a ton of film. They also have a lot of data to go back to to research on prospects in making their evaluations. The coaches take each kid and run them through the whole evaluation process and compare that to other prospects and how they stack up and make their decisions based on what they have determined due what their data reads (SPARQ) and what they see and they trust in their logic and system and make their decisions as it should be, regardless of public opinion. Many investors have followed their evaluation processes and diligently gone through such processes and made investment decisions based on what their research and calculations have concluded and go by this logic rather than public opinion and have trounced the markets over and again. The WR out of CAK Josh Smith is a perfect example of following on your own conclusions the kid's SPARQ scores were right on the level of a Brendan Langley prospect. He's 6'1 183 and was times at 4.51 seconds in the 40 despite no real training on this and with an awkward stance when it was done which probably means it is somewhere in the 4.4's. He then a few weeks ago went against prospects such as Langley and wore them out. At this point our evidence suggests there is no difference in the caliber of talent between Smith and 4 stars like Langley. He is automatic take and forget what everyone else perceives of him. Saban has established himself for a long enough period where it seems anyone he offers will automatically get 4 stars even if they were under the radar, but normally they aren't b/c it seems many ride his coattails once he offers then everyone else follows suit. So, I am not worried at all by this class as it seems the staff has gotten caught up and been able to find uncovered talent. Sorry for the long one.
