I think more and more of these legacies and their fathers are seeing something in CBJ that they didn't in Dooley. JMO.

I agree with that. Can only speculate, but obviously some former players did not feel welcome. In their place I would not encourage my son to commit to Tennessee. Like when someone else moves into the house you grew up in, it no longer feels like home.... why would you send your kid off to live with strangers?

Jones may not be OF Tennessee, but he gets it. Tradition lives in the hearts of the faithful. Jones, Kiffin, Dooley will not coach long enough to create anew what already exists? Tap into that tradition. Make it your own! Bruce Pearl did it, and it was part of his success.

  • Ryan Quick question about the composite ranking, Is the ESPM rating weighted to take into account they do not include JUCO players in their rankings? A team will most definitely be ranked lower by them if they take more JUCO players than other teams

We don't reveal which specific sites are used in the 247Composite, but each rating is compiled separately based on each player's rating. In other words, we don't just take into account that one site has Tennessee ranked 25th or another has the Vols ranked 43rd. We take different sites' ratings for each individual player, then add them all together and use our ridiculously complicated formula to come up with what you see on the 247Composite rankings page.

When a certain player isn't ranked by any given site, that's just one fewer rating that's figured into a player's 247Composite rating. It doesn't negatively impact a player's or team's ranking in the 247Composite.

On a side note, there's a "power meter" next to the 247Composite logo on every prospect's 247Sports profile that tells how many sites used in the 247Composite have rated a player. If one or two sites that are used in the 247Composite don't have a player rated, the "power meter" may shot only two or three red bars instead of four, indicating that the player's 247Composite rating is based on fewer site ratings.

I think this class is starting to pick up a little steam frostyvol if we could land Bell,Lawson,North and Green it would be a really legit class. Glad to put vol on the backend of frosty, who do you think we need to salvage this class and does anyone think we flip Ramsey?peace

I don't have good feelings about Ramsey. I think he sticks at USC, but even if he bails, I don't see us as the landing spot. I think Kamara, North and Lawson would put us in the top 20 and would make every one of us extremely happy. That being said, getting any of them will be very tough.

Top247 wide receiver Ryan Jenkins of Marietta, Ga., who's the son of former UT defensive back Lee Jenkins, decommitted from Clemson and committed to Tennessee on Monday.

I am out of town and just got my computer up and running so thanks Ryan and +1. I really like this get and am finally beginning to be impressed with this staff. Congrat's to RJ and welcome to Big Orange Country.

Yes, it's true, i've been hard on this staff, but only because of my deep desire to get back to competing with the top teams in our conference, and players like Jenkins are exactly what we need. He is a flat playmaker and a big time talent. Very impressed by our staffs ability to flip this guy from Clemson. Great hands, elusive, and strong. Love this commitment. Hope this starts us on a roll to close this class out.

Hep me Elizbeth!!! I'm comin to meet ya!!!! It is possible for frostyvol to be positive. You know you can't go back to the dark side now right? Lol

I know frosty's been a little negative lately but I think he's still reeling a bit from getting spurned at the altar by Gruden. He's really a happy jolly soul. And a Vol fan. CBJ will win us all over in due time.
