  • I'd really hope CP would stay if he was projected to go 2nd Rd. Next year it would be CP and Marquis Lee at the top.

    Here's my question.

Worth them leaving for the NFL? I say no on CP and TB. Could substantially raise their value by sticking it out another year.

Thanks Watauga. I think Patterson could sneak into the 1st round if he closes the year anywhere near his performance in the Troy game and he should smoke the combine. I think all three are gone in any case.

Agree, but always a chance of injury.

I think Bray could raise his stock with a better coach where they demand more from him. He isn't asked to do anything with this offense.

If they continue to put up numbers and show case their potential, which they will against Missouri, Vandy, and Kentucky, I don't believe their draft status will dip. Just think what Patterson and a healthy Hunter, after working with a trainer, will probably do at the combine. I don't think Bray is going to disappoint at the combine either. I suspect they are all gone, but still alot more football to play. We'll see.

He can't be trusted and that's a primary reason he's not a first rounder at this point. It's not the coach. If you give Bray a choice the ball is going down the field. It's almost as if he can't help himself.

A new coach and system coudl change him, it will have to in the NFL, you can't say w/ a new coach he wouldn't change. It might not, but I think it would

  • yeah all are probably gone in any case but there is still a small chance both Bray and Patterson could stay to up their draft stock

    That's a valid possibility.

  • So they've got Bray as the 4th QB taken.. he could easily go in the 1st round and maybe even go ahead of Tyler Wilson as the 3rd QB. I think he's gone.

Edit: Then again, there's really no competition for him next year if he returns. He'd probably be a top 5 pick and earn a huge signing bonus. Yeah, he should stay.

Agree. He wants out of the 'College Experience' so he is not as accountable for his behavior. Problem for him is much of his behavior neutralizes his ability to lead and he will discover in the Pro's that they don't like it either.

I wonder what the difference is between a top 5 pick's signing bonus and a late 1st rounder/ early 2nd rounder signing bonus.

This is why I don't think he'll go in the first or second round. Look where his buddy Da'Rick is..., his behavior cost him all kinds of money.

I think it is set by a formula based on the number one players contract. I could have the wrong sport or just be wrong period. Either way it's a lot of money. Me and Momma' could really kick it up with that kind of green.thumbsup

  • 2012 NFL draft:

    rd1/pk1: Luck (4yrs/$22.1M - $14.5M signing bonus)
    rd1/pk2: RG3 (4yrs/$21M - $13.8M signing bonus)
    rd1/pk8: Tannehill (4yrs/$12.yM - $7.76M signing bonus)
rd1/pk22: Weeden (4yrs/$8.1M, not sure about signing bonus)

So basically... Bray will have to ask himself if returning for 1 more year is worth $10M-$15M over the next 4 years of his life.

Maybe someone else can do a similar study on WRs.

  • Bray has carved up the lesser competition he has faced, but his numbers against good, solid SEC defenses are much lower. I think another year facing those defenses will help his decision-making, thus improving his stock in the eyes of NFL personnel. If he came back his senior year and showed growth against the upper-level teams, he would easily be a top 5-10 pick. But his decision making IS what is questioned sometimes, so I really don't see him staying.

  • With Bray, Hunter and Patterson all putting up record type numbers, I could almost see them all coming back for another year to write their names in the record books....if they thought there was a chance at something BIGGER to go along with those numbers (like an SEC or NC). I think the idea of another year of an inadequate defense will help them make the decision to go pro.

  • Nice to see Dallas Thomas as a 1-2 rounder. They still have him on the OT list, don't know if he'll play out as tackle or guard at the next level.

    GoBigO

  • i am still kinda shocked that CP isnt already in the first round what he does with the ball in his hands is remarkable.

I would be absolutely stunned if Bray doesn't go in the first or second round. Every projection I've seen lately has him as a second-round pick at worst, and I think some GM will be too impressed by his throwing ability to pass on him if he's still available in the second round. His stock could improve at the combine, too, or with a good performance at UT's pro day.
