There are going to be some sorely disappointed people here. After the thing with my dad, I came to some personal conclusions. The first of which was that I wasn't as ready for a new relationship as I initially thought. When I was back in Illinois and the fear and emotions hit hardest, the first person in my mind that I wanted to talk to was my ex. As much as I hate her for everything, it's obvious I've still got hurdles to clear. The second thing is that I know it isn't fair to another human to be dating if you aren't ready to be all in.
When I got back, the EP and I had a good long conversation about it. She understood and while I don't think she really liked what she heard, she was supportive. We agreed to stay in touch and maybe pick things back up when I am ready...which I hope is soon, but who honestly knows?
I haven't decided if I want to post a pic or not. I don't need DV stalking her.

I'm posting just to keep this thread near the top. I know how well-known Crockett is here, (and I sincerely hope things work out for you, dude, having been exactly where you were when I was your age. I can still sing along to all Barry Manilow's "she left me and I'm miserable" songs
). I'm also not shocked people would offer advice and encouragement.
But a 41 pg. thread? Never saw it coming. This is proof that "manly men" like a good soap opera.
Now, I just want to see how long we can keep this going. Crockett, just keep us informed, even if you are only taking a friend to lunch. I'd love to be able to say the longest thread EVER on this forum wasn't about a 5 star recruit, a win, or a coaching search, but a male poster's quest for that special life partner.
That'd be cool. I don't know why, exactly, but it would.
