In addition to all of the articles on govols247 — and on every site across the 247Sports network — VIP access allows you to see every VIP post from Wes, me and other 247Sports writers here on the message board. That includes breaking news updates and the VIP Room every Monday morning, which is a ridiculously long, in-depth, state-of-the-union type weekly update on UT sports. You also get to see our answers to the many, many questions we answer here on the board — and, of course, you get to ask us any question you want and know you're going to get a pretty quick response.

If you sign up for an annual subscription, that also saves you about $12 a year and allows you to sign up for our text alerts, which let you know about breaking news without having to be on your computer or mobile phone checking the site. We know you're doing that all the time, anyway, but we also know you can't be on the site every minute of every day, so text alerts are a cool feature.

Those are just a few of the reasons to sign up for VIP access. I'm a bit biased, but I think it's worth it. Hopefully some of our current members would tell you the same thing.

One of the down sides to having the text service is that Rucker fires out a text every time the Cubs win. Granted, that's only a few texts but can still get annoying after a while.
