GO VOLS!! VFL!!
"Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work." -Thomas Edison
Two things are most disturbing about this loss; 1) The complete collapse mentally of this team after FL tied the game (reminds me of Kentucky last year), 2) The lack of coaching adjustments made during the game to counter FLs adjustments (we were outcoached). It is now apparent that in 3 years Dooley has been unable to change the culture of the football program back into a winning mentality. We know what it looks like when it does happen. We have seen it with Bruce Pearl first and then Cuonzo Martin in the basketball program. They both elevated the basketball team into winners and beat ranked teams early. This football team is not on that path. It is too bad because I like Dooley and want him to be successful. Starting over with a new coach is not an attactive proposition either and guarantees not improvement. I do think he deserves another year, but I am afraid if he doesn't beat a ranked team this year, he will be gone.
We hope to win and other teams expect to win. With 10 min to go in 4th they gave up. They'll never admit it but they did. Or at least it appeared that way on TV. This team could put up 2TD's easily, but you have to believe you can, and they didn't. Too bad, because that was a great opportunity to kick start the recovery. GBO!
Nice VIP as usual. The images I can't seem to erase from my mind are the shots of TB after we got punched. He looked ready for the referee to count to ten. Not the correct reaction for an elite SEC QB. It was just the defining moment for me. But if he watches what we saw maybe he will realize his shortcoming and get it right. We really need to beat a quality SEC team so we can know how to win. Love my Vols. GO VOLS!
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
