Vanderbilt Football Fans

  • Ok guys. What the heck? How arrogant can they get? They are 29-74 all time against us and they think because they win 3 times in the last 27 years that they are amazing! It's ridiculous! It is terrible on twitter. I got this tweeted at me below. I mean really. They're making themselves look like idiots and what's worse they actually believe what they say! I hope we beat the living crap out of them in Knoxville. What's your guys thoughts?

  • I have never really given Vandy one of my precious thoughts, but since you asked.. They don't matter and they never will. They won a game while our program was the lowest it's ever been and their's was the highest its ever been. Congrats on that, I guess?

  • For what it's worth, most people on their message boards don't even have degrees from Vandy. They're all just people who grew up in middle TN and are trying to be different so they pull for Vanderbilt.

    It's a strange sort of self-flagellation to choose to be a Vandy fan.

    Think of it as the sports version of BDSM, where people derive pleasure from humiliation and pain.

    they better enjoy there ride from last year...because we do at least have a head coach ..that can coach
    and undefeated..aganst franklin..this year will be bad if we can run the score up..because im sure butch would to show we own the state of tenn as he said...plus if franklin has decent year he will be gone next year...vandy is a stepping stone and thats it...go vols

  • My roommate at UT is now a professor at Vanderbilt. So where does a UT degree get you? He now teaches grad students at Vandy.

  • Yeah, they went 9-4 last year. Congrats. But look at their schedule. They were 1-4 against teams that finished the year with a winning record. At that one win was NC State, who didn't even have a head coach at the time. They'll be back to reality in no time.

  • In my experience with Vandy fans, they don't know how to handle success in sports. They just use the "we are smarter than you" and "you will work for us someday" tired smack talk when i have gone to games at Vandy. They don't have any history of success in football so they really cant talk smack about how they are better than us with only 2 wins in about 30 years. They resort to class warfare and view UT fans/grads as 2nd class citizens. They get good in football for a couple years and their fans become more annoying and the elitist mentality is taken to new highs. Just ignore them for a while and they will go back to losing or hopefully be a little more humble with continued success. I have no problem with their teams being successful but their fans just need to learn how to handle the success and learn to act like they have been there before (even though they haven't).

    Franklin hasn't figured out that in the SEC it's not about talking the talk, it's about walking the walk! They make a DVD when they beat us twice in almost 30 years! REALLY? We make a DVD when we win NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS! When is the last time they won a championship in ANY sport...Oh yea, NEVER!     One of my Vandy friends from grad school would always give me a hard time about my TN public education (I went to Tech, long story). One day I finally told him it got us into the same grad school and I didn't have a dime of undergrad debt. He shut up

    I've heard Northwestern use the same chant. Maybe all the elite schools use that one when they lose.
