Another solid inning for Kidd. Fly out to center, single to LF that squirted between the 3B and SS, and then two groundouts to second to strand the runner at 3rd.
Vols 6, NIU 0, going to the bottom of the 7th.

Vols nearly added to the lead there, but Osborne's drive to LF was snagged at the top of the wall. Would have been a 3-run HR.

Kidd pulled after starting off the top of the 8th with back-to-back walks.
Freshman Connor Stevens in now and gets the first out on a groundout to third. Nice play there by Luther.
Runners on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out for NIU.

When Serrano took over, he said the Vols would be more aggressive on the base paths. Looks like they aren't wasting any time developing that skill set.
