Tennessee baseball coach Dave Serrano’s already-impressive 2015 recruiting class got bigger and even better Monday night.

  • Big pickup for the Vols. They certainly haven't landed many prospects over the past several years who were this highly ranked.

  • Wes, definitely excited to see what coach Serrano is doing, knew it was a matter of time. My question is where do you see Betts, Hayes and Halas going in the draft and what are our chances we keep all three? Thanks, great story! Thanks again.

It's tough to know so far in advance. We should have a much better idea sometime during or after this summer. That summer circuit is always big.

It stands to reason that kids ranked so highly will be drafted high, but sometimes teams back off a kid because they know he's going to college. That's what happened with A.J. Simcox.

  • Baseball's no different than any other sport..Get the elite recruits, and the wins will follow. Would love to see us back in the CWS!

  • I love getting these big committments, but we also have a greater chance of losing them to the pro's.

  • If you're drafted out of high school you should absolutely go.

not necessarily, college programs are becoming just as developmental

Take the money and be a professional. Also, the MLB team that drafts you has to pay for your college once you finish playing pro ball. If you go to college to play ball you aren't going to be getting a full ride.

Most kids aren't ready to play minor league baseball at 18. It's very cut throat, demanding, and being away from home. Being in a college program is a little less demanding (although it is still tough), and there is more nurturing and developing. Unless you're a top 15 round pick, I would go to college
