Thanks for the info Ryan. I would love to know the real backstory on this kid. Is he better than evaluated, is he an insurance policy for the Santos situation or something else entirely. This one as KR said will be interesting to watch.

The star system holds little weight with me. I would be interested in hearing about his speed. At 6-4 228 I would tend to think that he would be quick, thus making him a perfect fit for a 3-4 OLB. Also it would be nice to bring in more kids from the Memphis area. I know that most folks wonder why it is that UT has such a hard time in that area. I actually grew up in Dyersburg TN, which is about 80 miles north of Memphis. I can tell you without a shaddow of a doubt that the biggest problem is that Memphis doesn't seem to really see itself as a part of TN. For anyone who has ever been there, it is a huge city, and it just seems to run at a different pace than the rest of the state. I don't think that drawing one 2 star kid will change everything for us in Memphis, but it would be nice to establish some conections with coaches in the area. I wonder if Coach Sunseri can help in that regard. Strangely Alabama is and has always been big with the Memphis folks.
Like most of the rest have said, this will be interesting to say the least.

Alabama has had connections in Memphis for a while, all the way back to when high school coaches were paid by bama boosters to influence their top prospects to go to bama. Knoxville is a long ways from Memphis considering its in the same state. Why we have never established roots in Memphis for recruiting its talent I don't know, Fulmer didn't do it but he didn't recruit out of the state anywhere really. Maybe Dooley is trying to keep our talent at home.

My good friend refs hs and he mention this kid a few months back. Said he was everywhere and could not believe we were not recruiting him. I looked through all the three stars and did not see him so I just took it foregranted. Everywhere meaning he was in on every play.
