Ryan, how would you compare Ferguson's tools to that of Worley and Peterman? With the installment of a new offense on the horizon, how much of an advantage do Worley and Peterman hold over Ferguson?
I like Ryan's depth chart but I think we'll sign North and he will be one of our starters. I'm also gonna factor Harris into the depth chart. I think Croom will add the size/strength necessary to start at TE. I don't know what to expect at QB and I think a guy like Derrick Green would factor into the rotation at RB if we sign him, but I think he'll go to Michigan.
QB - ?
RB - Neal/Lane
TE - Croom/Meredith/Downs
WR - North/Harris
WR - Blanc/Bowles
Slot - Howard/Dallas
That is two 6'3"+ WRs on the outside who have each been timed at 4.41, a jitter-bug in the slot who CAN NOT be covered by a LB, an over-sized WR playing TE who has the size to make tough catches and speed to get upfield, and a homerun threat at RB who has the hands to make plays out of the backfield. This seems like a matchup nightmare for opposing DCs.
The kicker, of course, well.. there's 2. Ok, 3. The first is QB play, the 2nd is signing Marquez North, and the 3rd is Croom since we don't even really know what position he's gonna play. If we get good QB play and sign Marquez North, we'll be solid.
