We Owe It To These Kids...

  • To show up in full force this Saturday. I really hope all of you who are selling your tickets on this board and elsewhere will man up, like these kids on our team have done time and time before. I don't care where you stand on Dooley; that is irrelevant when considering how much committment and loyalty these athletes have shown us over the years. For us to turn our backs on them now, in what is essentially a political statement towards our head coach, would be cowardly.

    Unfortunately, I live in New York, so I will not be able to pay my way down and support this team, like I did in Atlanta on Aug. 31. Every one of you Vols fans who doesn't show up puts another crimson colored mutt in our stadium and will further dissuade an incredible crop of recruits who will be visiting this weekend.

    This 'unraveling' we are fearful the team will endure starts with the fans people. We need to show UNBRIDLED SUPPORT for our team to have any chance of making it out of this season with any sense of respectability. I hope our team can count on you come Saturday. Nothing is impossible.

  • I agree, these guys have spent the last couple of years putting blood sweat and tears into this program and all the fat lazy old fans of theirs, sitting and b****ing, throw the team under the bus because they fight for 60 minutes but come up short. Yea your a fan of a team that won in 1998. Sorry stuff happens. Go vols, give em hell!

    Will you be one of those RUNNING for the exits like the last time we played there. I remember the students shooting the bird toward the Bama fans and chanting f you Bama. Those same people were quickly leaving a short time after that. Just stay and watch the whole game this year vol fans.

  • I'm one of those people that's ready to give up on Dooley but I agree with the entire sentiment in this post. It would be best for this program if Dooley does turn it around, and those players are banged up and hurting. They need a big win, and they need our support more than ever. Say whatever you want about the coaching or the results but this team is fighting and they just need something good to happen. I hope it happens this week.

    Hah! I would be there, if it was financially viable. I'm a young man (UT '10) who lives in NY and I don't have the luxury, unfortunately, to make more than 1 road trip a year. If I were in TN though, better believe I'd be there supporting. This was meant more for those who live in the area.

    I chose to go to the NC State game because my girlfriend's brother (who also lives here in NYC with us) is a big State fan and grad. Boy was that a fun trip home!
