  • Zip line thru downtown......helicopter ride at night maybe......do a spa afternoon together for the mrs......IMO you gamble at one place (or get the card that works at MGM and NYNY and others....best thing to do) and build up cred and get to know a host really well and get upgraded for a banging suite for the last night or 2.......go walk thru 5-10 of the best hotels on the strip........enjoy......dont lose it all.

I think what you meant to say was...why the F*** are you throwing yer life away?

    Manndingo

  • If you want to see a show, see Cirque shows "Love" or "O"

    Each was great.

    Kevin Ryan

  • Art gallery at the Wynn was pretty cool. All privately owned by him.

Seriously guys? Be happy for the guy it's his honeymoon!

Congrats man, food wise joes is great if your into shellfish. I think someone said that already. Since your in the Luxor right next door there is a place called STRIP in the Mandalay bay. It is a Michael Mina operation, any of his places are safe bets(he has a place in mgm and bellagio as well)and not to outrageously priced.strip is a dry aged beef operation, try the truffled Mac and chez I dare you to finish a side order, they will have to get a gurney to get you out of there. If you want to have an epic meal there is a place in MGM called robuchon, it could run you up to 500$ a person but Joel robuchon is one of the best in the world, it's French food so if that's your thing this is the place to go. I have several friends that lived and worked in the food industry there they all have said this is the best they've had there. Anyways have a blast, o yea go by the city center and check it out its freaking awesome.

  • O yea canyon ranch spa at the Venetian is amazing, I've been to the spa at Luxor nothing wrong with it at all but I hear canyon ranch lows most all of them away.

  • Thanks guys, over the last couple years weve done the carribean, the keys,Va Beach and just wanted something differnt.Shes never been to Vegas.Kevin where are those two shows. Thanks for your advice Cali

  • If you are staying at the Luxor, which honestly wouldn't be at the top of my list, I would definitely see CarrotTop. I will probably get downvoted for this and I though the same thing going into the show...but it was piss in my pants funny!!! One thing you always have to remember with comedians that you see on TV is that they can't do most of their material.

As far as other shows, Beatles Love is my #1 of the Cirque shows. Wife loved Phantom but I heard that it was closing for Faith and Tim.
I would also see who has special engagements while you are there at the different hotels. We saw Jay Leno once and those sometimes are must shows because its not like you can see him just anywhere.

As for food, my #1 choice on the strip for a honeymoon is Olives at Bellagio. Not terribly expensive for Vegas standards, and obviously the views are great. You can do it for lunch or dinner....dont think you can reserve the balcony but usually at lunch its not too busy. Some other suggestions mentioned above are all excellent. There is an old Italian restaurant near the Convention Center that is UNBELIEVABLE. I can't remember the name of it right now. I saw Lou Ferrigano, The Incredible Hulk, (sp?) there when we went.
Mix is great at sunset because you get to see the whole strip.

If you love to really eat lots of food and want to have a brunch one morning, I would suggest going to Hash House a GO GO. Tremendous food. I may still have some pictures of ours...thats how good and big the portions are. If I do I will post them in a minute in a different post.

One final thought, is to go on Trip Advisor. Their Las Vegas forum is the largest on the whole website and filled with inside information. People will put their TR's (Trip reports) and review everything they did while in Vegas. My wife always gets on that site and looks at it like I look at 247!! There is also a search feature that if you are interested in anything from the best steakhouse to midget wrestling and someone did it in Vegas you will be able to find reviews on it.

    Best of luck and congrats!!!

Ah, OK, that makes sense then. Try some of the Cirque Shows (Love at The Mirage and O at Bellagio are really good) and the Blue Man Group at The Monte Carlo is good. The Mirage has A-list comedians almost every weekend. If you want cheesy, the Rat Pack Show at the Hilton is a hoot. For magic, Chris Angell at the Luxor and Penn and Teller at Rio are good.

If you enjoy hiking then go out to Red Rocks or Lake Mead. Of course, you can always tour the dam and if you haven't walked across the new bridge over the gorge you have to do that. It has a spectacular view of the dam and will make your knees buckle (mine did anyway) if you look down.

I pro-actively upvoted you as if you get a downvote for giving your opinion on a comic, that is ludacrous.

"O" is at Bellagio, and Love is at The Mirage. Two cool hotels, too.
