Where u from? Why are you a VFL?

I was born and raised in Chattanooga, graduated from Tyner High School in 1995 (back when there were both city and county schools).

do you ever want to see salmon again?

I can't eat salmon at all anymore. Just had way too much of it over the years.

Have you ever played golf at midnight?
How warm is it in July? I'm coming up on cruise ship what do I def need to see?

I haven't played golf at midnight because the stupid courses insist on closing at night despite the fact that it's not even dark yet. Temps in July are usually in the mid to upper 60s, and rain is always a possibility. If you're coming up on a cruise ship, I'd recommend the Kenai Fjords Tour, the Alaska Railroad from Seward to Anchorage (or vice-versa if your ship docks in Anchorage), and the Alaska Sea Life Center while in Seward.

Have you ever got one if those ice houses and fished? Always thought that looked cool

You don't see that much in this part of the state, so I've never even had the opportunity.

I think cool is an understatement... down right cold ;)

How much of Alaska is dry? and are you in a dry area or not?

SE Alaska is literally a subtropical rainforest, so you see a lot of rain there. Anchorage used to see more snow than rain, but over the last 3-4 summers we have seen as many as 34 days in a row with rain. The only "dry" areas are north of the Brooks Range - places like Prudhoe Bay, Barrow, Deadhorse, and ANWR.

You are driving in a remote, isolated, lonely road in Alaska (a rarity, I'm sure). You see a stranded motorist flagging you down.

The motorist says, "Hi, I'm Nick Saban. I coach college football back in America. I wanted to get away for a few weeks and drove up here. I didn't tell anyone where I was going, didn't even bring a cell phone.."

"My car died on me. You are gonna have to take me to one of your villages so I can get back home. Wait,
    you do speak English, right?"

Your question is: How would you dispose of the body, and would you keep any of his national championship rings as a memento?"

I'd just give him a snowmobile with enough gas to go 50 miles (no real roads in the bush) and point him in the direction of nothing. The wolves would take care of the body, and I'd report the snowmobile as stolen. It would take the State Troopers six months to search for it anyways...

    - Do you know anyone that tries to or has made a fortune mining gold or is that reality TV b.s.?
    - before moving to AK what was the coldest place you had ever been?
    - How prepared would you say you were for your first winter in Alaska?

My experience with gold panning is limited to to the tourist traps between Anchorage and Seward, although there are a couple of real gold mines in the state.

Before moving to Alaska, the coldest place I had been was Keystone/Breckenridge/Arapahoe Basin, Colorado for Spring Break 1991.
I had come up for Christmas in 1994, so I already knew what to expect as far as weather was concerned. What I wasn't prepared for was how long winter lasts...

Did you cuss when Tee said no?

I knew that the longer the process dragged out, the less likely we'd see Tee in Knoxville next year. Family can often cause you to hold off on even your biggest wishes.

Any hot prospects in your effort to return home permanently?

Right now, I've had to put that on the back burner due to some family issues. I'm still planning to move back, but I have to stay up here at least for another six months in order to get this stuff taken care of.

Have you ever been snow-mobiling with the Palin's?

No, although I have met both Sarah and Bristol. Don't like either one of them, in all honesty. Bristol is a spoiled little brat, and having a kid did not cause her to grow out of it.

How do you deal with the constant darkness / constant daylight that you experience during the year? What types of sports activities do you participate in or go watch there? Any wildlife sitings in you front/back yard recently?

Blackout curtains in the summer, getting out of the state in the winter is how I cope with the daylight extremes. As far as sports go, I occasionally play some pickup basketball at the gym, but there isn't much to watch in person other than UAA basketball (their hockey team sucks), Alaska Aces hockey, or AFC (local MMA promotion). The HS football players up here look like middle school players in Tennessee, and I can't get behind a season that starts the first weekend of August and crowns its champions after an 8-game regular season and playoffs are done before Halloween. I see moose regularly around my house, and occasionally see bears, wolves, and foxes.

Have you ever made out with a native?

I dated a girl who was part Alaska Native, but not a full-blooded Alaska native. Dating in general sucks up here. There's a saying that "The odds are good, but the goods are odd." which summarizes the dating scene perfectly.

Deadliest Catch is one of my favorite TV shows. How big of a deal is it in Alaska?

How much of Alaska have you seen?

Deadliest Catch is bigger than it should be. When the one captain was airlifted to Providence hospital, there was a vigil outside the place made up entirely of DC fans. Alaska is far too big to see all of it, but I have seen everything from the Kenai Peninsula to Anchorage and then between Anchorage and Fairbanks/North Pole. FYI, Guy Fieri just did a holiday themed Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives in North Pole/Fairbanks.

How many episodes of Ice Road Truckers have you been on?

The Alaska episodes take place in Fairbanks and along the Dawson Highway, so nowhere near Anchorage. So the answer is none.

All of the good questions have been asked. Don't think I saw this one. What is your favorite kind of pizza? Everybody loves pizza.

There is a place called Moose's Tooth that makes some amazing pizza. They are also a brewpub, so you can get your pizza and good beer in one stop. They have a spicy pepperoni (pepperoni with pepperoncini peppers) that I love.
