    1. Ever been to a Predators game? 2. With Chris Carpenter pretty much retired, I need a new favorite Cardinals player. Since I am a nice guy, I thought I'd let you pick. Who's your least favorite Cardinals player at the moment (keep in mind that whomever you pick will become my new favorite)? biggrin

    1. Yes. Been to a few.

    2. Still Carp until that bastard officially retires.

Darius Thompson...if and when he commits..who is the odd man out next year?

I don't want to speculate on that, because I don't really know. Looking into it.

I love the way you wrote that. As a Cardinals fan, I would recommend Adam Wainwright, Yadier Molina or Jon Jay. Wainwright is the obvious choice. You won't find many dominant pitchers who are as likeable as he is, and he already has reserved a spot in Cardinals history by recording the clinching strikeouts in Game 7 of the 2006 NLCS (a classic against Carlos Beltran) and Game 5 of the '06 World Series. And it's hard not to like Molina, who's the best catcher in the game.

But the darkhorse candidate here may be Jay. I would say he's one of the most underrated outfielders in baseball. He's quietly developed into a solid leadoff hitter who consistently hits about .300, and he played surprisingly good defense in center field last year, making a number of highlight-reel catches. He's the type of scrappy player the Cardinals have become known for producing over the years, but he's also productive in pretty much every facet of the game.

And he's probably been to prison at least seven or eight times.

What's it like to be OUTDONE by the other Wednesday thread?

He got a head start, and I've had to write a few stories today.

    What the deuce ever.

To be fair, you usually catch up with the other "Wednesday" thread, so it's not like you're outdone in any sense of the word.

Who were some of the other coaches who were interested in the Tennessee job when Kiffin left?

Final Four were Dooley, Golden, Sumlin and Whittingham, probably in that order.

Butch Jones said on Ainge's show that they might include media in next year's VOLympics draft. Would you declare for the draft if that is the case?

I would be a first-rounder if the players picked. Guaran-damn-teed.

Any word on media being able to attend practices under the new staff?

It's gonna be more open than it was, but I think this staff is gonna have a wait-and-see-how-it-goes approach before setting anything in stone.

As much we as the TN fanbase concentrate on Stokes and Maymon as the star players, this team really goes when Golden is playing well. Is he the piece that makes that much of a difference between being a good or a meh team? Or is it still Maymon?

Golden is the key, but Maymon is the leader, if that makes any sense.

And when both are healthy and playing well, the Vols are a very good team.

  • On a scale of "1-Wayne Chism" how awesome is McBees interviews? And if you don't think McBee is the funniest Bball player, Who is?

McBee's a solid 7. He'd be higher, but sometimes he spouts off cliches for a few consecutive minutes.

Funniest kid on the team? Good question. Probably Golden and McRae when they start going at each other. They've known each other since they were 13, and they're roommates and basically brothers.

Kenny Hall has moments when he'll crack you up, too. Hall is just raw. No filter. Says whatever he thinks. And it's awesome.

Trying to do that thing while doing WWW thread and writing stories is barely possible.

I need to rethink the schedule and spread it out somehow.

I know many of y'all like The MSR. I like to write it, too.
