Wes / Ryan - Sources still on the same page?

  • With the weekly media, addressing of the team and CDD's opening statement is there any changes on the story's from the sources? I do see CDD as a worn out individual but who could blame him with all the questions to his family and players on his status.

Yet he was very clear in his comments

  • I really don't understand why everyone is so hung up on this piece of information. Dooley IS going to get fired and everyone, including Dooley, knows it's coming. Him saying he hasn't formally been told doesn't change a thing. There is a process to firing someone, especially at a State supported institution. Just because Hart told Dooley he hadn't made up his mind doesn't mean everyone and their brother doesn't know what's coming.

I do believe that it is clear, however, that Dooley finishes the season before he gets fired.

  • Hart wants the team to win out. What benefit does he get by firing Dooley or even informing him he is gone, even if he has already decided he is? It may seem like foul play but it's really just good business.

I mean I agree with you. I was just saying for all the people wondering.

  • How much to we trust Dave Hart to do the best thing for the school?

The benefit is that it ends the circus in which we currently find ourselves. If what you, and everyone else, says is accurate, that it's a done deal, then allowing Coach to twist in the wind like this while everyone posts their "list" for replacements is unseemly, undignified and beneath this school. If a decision is made, tell the man and tell the fans so we dont have the endless and rampant speculation. I posted on another thread, it's a bad deal no matter how it's done, but if the decision truly has been made, just come out with it and lets get on with the process. You think a future coach looks at this debacle and doesnt think "hmm..that could be me..". Wouldnt you want to know? I dont think keeping the decision a secret benefits anyone. On the other hand, if a decision truly has NOT been made, as Coach suggests, then it would be nice for Hart to come out and say that. Not that many people on here would believe him.. It's FUBAR no matter how you look at it.

This circus is fan created, and IMO pretty irrelevant.

I also don't think it impacts how future coaches see UT at all. They are still giving him a chance to lead a team to a bowl which is pretty much all he can ask for at this point.

Exactly. The only "circus" is the one caused by the speculation of fans who want it to happen now. In the grand scheme of things, waiting another two weeks isn't going to change our situation any. The angst that fans have about the uncertainty and waiting isn't shared in the athletic department.
