Wes- Time to get your licks in...Cardinals about to be like cubs

  • Wes, I am ready to stand up and take it--to keep a common theme Man up on my Cardinals.

I will say last nights game was one the I think the strike zone changed depending on the team in the field.

Tonight we just got ran out of the building and it aint over til she sings but it is getting close she is warming up

The better team won. The Cardinals' all-or-nothing offense did a bunch of nothing in Games 5, 6 and 7, and their starting pitching and fielding were miserable, too. Hard to win when you're that bad across the board.

I don't think the strike zone had anything to do with how this series turned out.

On a side note, this has been one of the least competitive, least exciting seven-game series I can remember. Not one game has been exciting or memorable in any way.

    Ryan, as a Reds fan, I feel your pain . . .

Now they are playing in a torrential downpour - crazy.

  • I know my son said I guess I don't get to stay up late tonight and was out after the first outbreak of runs. We (Cardinals) just did not seem to have the energy level to carry this one to the end.

I believe the turning point, and hear me out on this...was in the blow out for the 3-1 lead when we gave up some late blasts to the Giant hitters that had been silent, they got confidence in the game and have been on fire since that point.

Now our D has not helped anyone and the bone head plays have really hurt.

Agree that this was about as bad a game 7 as game 5 was for the Reds.

  • I'm not the kinda guy who rubs it in the night of a big loss unless my team was the victor.

Give me 24 hours or so. Emotions will die down, and I will be back to normal.

No need to kick 'em in the Kibbles 'N Bits tonight. I'm happy they're not gonna win another World Series, but it's not like the Cubs stopped 'em.

Also, just to clarify your original post, the Cardinals never will be "like the Cubs" in any way, shape or form. For starters, of course, they've won a World Series or 11 since 1908. biggrin

And they will probably win a couple more during our lifetimes. The real question is whether Wes will ever experience the euphoria of watching his favorite team play in the World Series (I hope not, if only because we will never hear the end of it).

  • That was a terrific choke job by Stl. Only thing that would've made it better is if Tony L was still the manager.

Abvol-hate to say it but if Tony L was mgr I think we are getting ready to face the Tigers.

Again our D did not help in the last three games, the bats went south, the pitching was not great and we were not the better team the 2nd half of that series.
