I don't follow the NFL as closely as college. Why would NE trade Welker. Did he have a huge bonus due him? Nevertheless, this is great for Manning and Denver. He is a bonafide playmaker.

The Patriots had slapped the franchise tag on him last season, so he was paid $9.3M. The new contract they offered him this offseason was too low for him, so he declined and became a UFA. Now he's a Bronco and will be catching passes from Peyton instead of Tom "pretty boy" Brady...

No he just fit that offense and blew up there I believe. I think he played for Miami or somebody early in his career but I could be wrong

I think it's a terrific fit, and it gives Peyton one more weapon to wield on Sundays. Now, if Denver could just get a decent RB and shore up their secondary...

Big mistake by NE IMO. They have lost a lot on the receiver front and needed to find a way to retain WW. He didn't make a lot of big plays down field but he was hell to cover on 3rd and 8. This will be a huge chain mover for PM and the Broncos.

The only thing Manning was missing in Denver was a go-to TE like Clark had been in Indy. With Welker now a Bronco, things will get very entertaining in the Mile-High City...

For most franchises probably but NE always finds a way and it looks like they are going to sign Amendola
