Wes, throw us a bone would ya?

It will be different but you have no way of knowing if it will not be as good. Worley is more in line with the QB's that Chaney has had success with in the past. Accurate, smart, more mobile than Bray and you have an exciting backup in Peterson. You would also have Croom, Pig, Bowles, Blanc...a very talented group with some very good commitments and that does not take into account any JUCO's we might get. Most of the OL will be back with some talented guys to replace those who leave. Downs and Meredith will be, at the least, adequate at TE. Will we strike as quick? No. Can we score as many points? in many cases yes. Will this style of Offense help the defense? Yes. So taken as a whole it will be a better offense. JMO

Cone on Tnbear you're reaching and you know it! This offense has 3 1st rd picks on it. Bray can make throws Worley simply can't. CP and Hunter can make catches the guys you mentioned can't. To think our offense next year will come close to putting up 45 on a Georgia or 35 on South Carolina isn't realistic...

Now if we get rid of the hurry up which I think we will, it will be a more efficient offense. I can't say better yet. But it will be closer to what an SEC team needs to be. The O-line will probably be the best in the SEC and if we get a Derrick Green the urnning game could be awesome...

But to suggest we will be better on offense is unfair to how good Bray, CP, and Hunter are. They are 1st rd draft picks.

  • C'mon guys. You know Wes doesn't report anything until it is 100% true.

...meaning it's already been reported and confirmed by the University.

That was my point. I didn't say better but 'different'. Read the last few sentences and also read where I said we can put up the same points 'in most cases'. Come on 'Driz you're not reading.biggrin

I just don't think we will come close to putting up the PPG we do this year. I wouldn't consider Worley a very mobile QB either, I've never seen him move.

'more mobile' is relative to Bray. I'm 64 and more mobile than Bray.

Gotcha. As good as Chaney has been of late I still want him gone. I want to line up like Bama and LSU and wear teams down and keep the defense off the field. I don't think Chaney allows us to do that.

Right, but I'm sure he knows some interesting facts. Nothing wrong with sharing little nuggets and allowing readers to form their own opinion until something is confirmed by the university, IMO. Without insider info, this site is kind of a waste of money; unless you're like me and enjoy exchanging opinions on the message board. Did I use that semicolon correctly?

Just admit it... you're reaching. Sometimes I also allow my optimism to cloud my perception. It happens. No way our offense next year is as good as this year if our playmakers go pro.

Just admit it...your not reading. I never said it would be 'better' in the context you guys are talking about. Here we go one more time...If you are not slinging the ball all over the field but have a more controlled passing game with an OL that can run block you can score lot's of points and use more time off of the clock which helps your Defense making it an overall more productive Offense.

So you're with me in saying the no-huddle has to go. That;s the only way your statement will come true.

When Bray, Hunter and CP are gone they may not run a no huddle but even if they did it would be different because of personnel. The same principle applies...the Colts(with Manning) and other teams run a no huddle but they are not chunking the ball down the field all the time. They still chew up clock with the run game and shorter passes. They are much more selective with their vertical passing game. You would be making more first downs which in College stops the clock for a few seconds which in turn adds the seconds back that you didn't use in a huddle which rests the defense. You can also run a no huddle and go to the line of scrimmage to make your play call thus using the same amount of time as a huddle. There is a difference in 'no huddle' and the vertical quick strike passing game.

Yea but my biggest criticism with the offense, and just shows how poor the offensive coaches can be was exhibited on Saturday. We are winning with 6 minutes left in the game, controlling the game on offense and we are snapping the ball w/ 20 seconds left on the play clock. That's just beyond stupid. Good teams don't run the no huddle in the SEC. They take the play clock down to 2 or 3 and shorten games and keep the defense off the field. That's what wins in this league.

    I know what you said:

"Can we score as many points? in many cases yes"

    I don't think so.

This may be a moot issue if we have the staff turnover I think is coming.
