What I think Coach and fans are trying to say....

  • Jayson Swain was giving Dooley a hard time for saying he was proud of these guys tonight. I hear what Swain is saying... You should never be proud of the loss. But if you really watched the press conference, Dooley was in no way proud of the loss. I think though, what he was trying to say, and what those of us who saw a positive are trying to say, is that TN is making tremendous strides and improvement this season. I just feel like we are so close to just exploding in these games, and I think he feels it too. Think about it guys. We made a ton of mistakes, and were still in it until the last minute of the game. We faced a ton of adversity in this game and didn't quit. Yes we have some stuff to clean up, especially on D, but we now have an off week to work on some things, and work on getting some of our faster, younger DBs out on the field..... I think people that play us moving forward are going to wish they had gotten us earlier on their schedule. And, outside of Bama, there isn't a game left we can win.

I'm not ready to surrender the 'Bama game yet. Who thought we would have a shot at an upset tonight? There's no reason this team cannot continue to get better into October.

  • Did CMR make a strange comment after the game? When asked about surviving the game...he said the Mizzou game was toughter? did I hear that correct or just not really listening?

I agree you have to be proud of the way the team reacted to the start and played for 60 minutes....no question they worked to finish this game. The end result is not what everyone is proud of which is also understood. But if you give your all and you come up short I can respect that. Comming up short when you don't give your all then that is a different story.

When asking the question, Tracy Wolfson said it was his first tough contest. He said that Mizzou was tough, too.

  • Thanks General--I was shocked when it was told to me and DVR cut off after the last int and prior to the end of the game so I could not replay.

Exactly..........this team is getting there and if you cant see it then you dont know jack about football or rebuilding. Dooley has been here 2 seasons and 2SEC games. Get on board bc he might just get 4+ more years and a new deal in a few months.

It's been misquoted on at least two other threads, making it appear Richt was dissing Tennessee, which he would never do. Thanks for getting it right.
