Basing executive hiring decisions on zip codes is ridiculous.

I had dealings with Hamilton and found him personally pleasant, but he seemed in over his head.

Hamilton wasn't planted in the job by the money people, and he wasn't hand picked by Dickey. Dickey was done and was indifferent about a successor. Hamilton was the only guy left after the inept UT administration whiffed on several qualified candidates, who sized up the train wreck in Andy Holt Tower and said no.
