Well Vol fans it's time to bump Jimbo Fisher to the top of our wish list! With a win this weekend he will have a record of 30-10 in his first three seasons as the head man at FSU. Gruden's popularity through ESPN would have been HUGE in recruiting but Jimbo Fisher can hold his own in that department as well! Not landing Gruden is a big disappointment but I believe Jimbo would still be a homerun hire!

Butch Davis really would worry me. We are still on probation and even if he gets away with the UNC mess the dude is going to be watched like a hawk. That's scarier to me than anyone else.

Wow.... what an unfortunate situation.....I am extremely disappointed in Hart and UT in the money issue with Gruden. We knew how much he makes at ESPN ($6M), we knew he would want to be near that number as a coach, I could have guessed roughly $5.5M per year, we have the support of all of our boosters agreeing to throw in money so that would not be the issue, we have a football program on life support and an athletic program in a financial mess due to the poor performance of the football program, and we can't come up with a financial proposal to Gruden that is close to his number? As a matter of fact, we find out we're a large distance apart? Wow... do we REALLY want to be a top program again or not? IF Gruden is really more comfortable with the NFL, I think he would have never even entertained offers. Frankly, I think the University or Hart turned him off in our approach towards things to the point where he felt it wasn't professional enough... seems like the translation to me..... so now we have to go after others who might be good coaches but are certainly much more of a risk than Gruden. Wow... so very disappointed in the University and Hart!
