Thanks for the update, Wes. This has certainly been a roller coaster, but I always have to keep things in perspective...this is college football, which I love dearly, but many of us have lived and will continue to live very blessed lives.
With that said, I know that you think we are "crazy" for not wanting Miami's Golden or Cincinnati's Butch Jones. I think the problem, at least for me, is that both appear to be downgrades to our latest disaster of a coach, Derek Dooley. Why you may ask? First, UT dismantled Cincinnati...and yes, I realize that we had superior talent. However, we literally destroyed his Cincinnati team. Fair or not, one of Dooley's "signature" wins was over Butch Jones. Second, Derek Dooley got the job OVER Al Golden. If memory serves, it was between Dooley and Golden, and Hamilton picked Dooley! Again, fair or not, Golden wasn't even "good enough" to get the job over a very unimpressive (resume wise) Derek Dooley of Louisiana Tech. So, and I realize it is irrational, I believe that explains some of our feelings on these two potential hires.
NOW THAT WE HAVE OFFICIALLY CLOSED THE DOOR ON GRUDEN, I say we go after Fisher, Gundy, Strong, or Fedora...in that order. I would be ecstatic with any of the four. I really think Fisher and Gundy are game changers...but Strong and Fedora could do some wonderful things on the Hill. With that said, go get us a coach, Hart, and GO VOLS!!!!!
"Count it down with me. Five, four, three, two, one.
The national champion is clad in Big Orange!"
Why would you make comments like that when you don't know what's really going on. It's very possible that Gruden just doesn't want to coach college football. We just need to wait and see what transpires.
Your team. All the time.
Wes- Not trying to be petty but in the 2nd bullet, you mentioned four coaches and then said "three names."
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
"Playing no favorites and sparing none, Reggie White was a quarterback's worst nightmare."
GRUDEN NOOOOOO.... Very well, Fedora time.....
Brick by brick, Vol by Vol, WE RISE.
