What grade do you give our Signing Class?

  • For the circumstances a C+, but on talent compared to the rest of the SEC a D.

  • I would grade the class based on the team rank compared to the other 126 teams listed. We currently sit at 27. That's roughly a grade of 79 = C+.
1-(27/127)=79. This is fair when compared to their peers, signing the young man who followed his head rather his heart would have probably rated a "B". I want to see how these young men perform and we will know their true grade in the next 3-4 years, but I believe if their heart is here and with Coach Jones this class has the potential to be an "A" which is the same grade I would the staff for effort. Coach Jones has lots of enthusiasm and that rubbed off on us having some unrealistic expectations for 13, but without those high expectations we grow to accept the unacceptable.
The high expectations this staff places on them selves first will transfer the field and I feel the wins will come next year. 8+ wins with a bowl victory and this staff having a year to develop relationships will be huge. I will be at every home game and some away games this fall, and I when I get there, as always I will believe the Vols will win.

Go big orange, the orange and white game can't get here quick enough and neither can this fall.

  • I'll give it an "A" for now, because the guys that signed with us at least have the courage to want to attempt to take on a challenge!!

  • B - a top-25 class from a school that has had 4 losing seasons in the past 5 years in nothing to sneeze at. And I'm glad they didn't just stock up on lower level 3 or 2 stars just to fill spots and get the ranking up. The difference between having the 25th best class and the 15th is about four or five 3-star players. We only signed 21 guys, so now we can go out and get 29 studs next year.

  • I agree a consensus top 25 class after some terrible football the last few years and the coaching turnover is nothing to sneeze at. It stinks to miss out on Bell but it is what it is, can't blame him for going to a program that was undefeated last year, has a proven NC winning coach and has the tradition OSU does. All things considered I would give it a B, A for coaches effort and C- related to our SEC competition. We DESPERATELY need some wins next year to give recruits something to be optimistic about going into the 2014 class, could be a huge class that gets us back to competing in the SEC.

  • Coach Jones' effort deserves an A, but the result of the hard work deserves a C. Averaged out I would give it a B, but we will know more about how good this class is in a couple of years.
