What is Tee turning down (maybe)?

  • 350k in Knoxville is about 520k+ in LA....some say its closer to 600k. Some say we offered 300k.
Will he ever get another chance to come back to UT if he turns down a great offer?
Fl is paying a former SEC HC to be their WR about 250k

We will see. Did UT offer him the RC position too...I would assume as that is a lot of money for a WR coach. I think if he gets on that plane back to LA without a signed agreement its over more likely than not.

  • I disagree it's like Wes said he is being a professional about this and going to make the right decision for him ?

But what bothers me is that when he left NM and went to Kentucky and then to USC the press reported that had UT offered he would have come. But now, an offer is not enough, it seems like. He called out UT through the press when he had interest and was not hired, now he's about to do a 180? It bothers me some but not to the point of going nuts on him on social media like I know many people will.

  • Yeah too me it would be different if you lived in LA for years but they have not been out there but maybe a year, so maybe they are still in the honeymoon period out there but I do not see any reason to stay on a sinking ship out there

Yes, but is this the right opportunity if his goal is to be that "native son" and come back and be the HC? WR and Rec Coord is not one step away from HC. He is rising through the ranks. Who doesn't want to learn from the best if given the opportunity. I am sure USC, Bama, etc have things he can learn and experience. (How not to recruit in USC's case) Tee needs to do right by his family, his career and (I think I read him say) his God. He is giving respect to UT and hearing them out, exploring the situation, discussing it with his family and in time he will share what he decides for himself. This is a business first. Remember how Majors (Fulmer is interim) and Fulmer (we all know that story) were removed. Not the prettiest of scenes. These are more delicate situations than most want to admit. Like Tee is giving the Vols, let's all show him some respect when he shares his wishes...coming to Knoxville or going elsewhere.

  • If he does not come back now with the offer that was made, kids here in town, and this being his home school then he is never coming back. So please after this lets never bring his name up for an open coaching position again.

I agree but the point is he is not moving up at USC or any other school to be an OC, he is gonna have to do that at a smaller school first.

  • Not necessarily. Randy Sanders is a good example. QBs to OC in the same conference. You can do it from within. Atomic - we are on the same page. All that wasn't directed at you, just a piece. I hope the fans offer Tee the same thing he is giving the UT family...respect.
