VOLS Titans/Bears....after that certain players and coaches' Braves Predators No NBA team, just have fav players and i cheer for whoever they play for. Just getting into soccer so no favs yet. Laughed about soccer for years, but after watching it being played ineptly(upward soccer) at a local soccer complex I decided it had potential. For those that support Upwards Sports, great it teaches good sportsmanship by not placing so much on winning and losing, but after that then what? Kids need to learn that they will succeed and fail in life, and learn how to do both in a good way.

I have never been involved in Upward since I have no kids, but I have always thought the same as you. It's all good to learn sportsmanship, but what do these kids do when they actually lose? Personally, I think it is good for kids to learn both sides of the spectrum so that it will help prepare them for it an older age. Unfortunately, winning and losing is a part of life and I feel that Upward is putting a false representation on this aspect. Maybe I'm wrong, but this is how I see it.

NFL is the dirty birds. Julio jones wins MVP this year

  • Titans
    Preds
MLB-no one really, when I follow it's the Braves
NBA-was old-school Celtics fan, now no one really

  • NFL- 49ers (TN didn't have a pro team when I was little, and Joe Montana was my idol)

    MLB- Reds

I don't really follow any other pro teams. Can't stand the NBA. I guess for NHL I consider myself a Columbus Blue Jackets fan since I live here, but I don't really "follow" them. My work has season tickets and I take customers to games to drink. :)

  • Went to high school in Charlotte, so the Panthers are my "NFL Team" but I love NFL Football it doesnt matter who is playing, depends on who I draft in my fantasy league...

Grew up a Jordan fan, but always cheered for the Sonics, also hard not to live Kobe, also like Melo and the Knicks, I'll cheer for any team playing the Celtics.

When I was young I watched baseball, my grandmaw was a Braves fan, that's one thing we always did together. I don't watch it anymore, probably been 10 years since I watched a baseball game.

I'm getting into Soccer now, I haven't picked a team yet, but I'm close...just know a few players, I'll pick a team soon.

  • No team approaches getting one percentage of my heart as compared to the Vols, but..

Reds- my dad took me to games once a year when I was a kid. Saw Pete play. Was there when Lou Piniella threw the Gatorade cooler. So happy to see them do well but the competitive balance, or lack thereof, makes it hard for me to enjoy it. Still too easy for the Yankees to buy my team overnight.
Chiefs- I never really had an NFL team. Was a skins fan as a kid, but after Joe Gibbs left and as a I grew up I lost connection. My wife grew up a Chiefs season ticket holder and indoctrinated me into Chiefs football as I did her the Vols. As awful as they may have been all these years, I've never experienced an NFL game like those Arrowhead. Great tailgating, great passionate fans, great tradition. Someday...
Knicks- I'd rather watch a random NFL team than ANY NBA game, but I've cheered for the Knicks since Patrick Ewing and loved it when Houston was there. I've sort of embraced the Thunder (closest team to my home in KC) and Grizz too. They are the antithesis of the things I despise about the NBA.

For the record, don't hate me too much, but I've never lived anywhere I loved as much as East Tennessee until my wife went to grad school in Louisville. Great city with character and small town vibe. Broke my heart to leave there for jobs after she graduated. As a non-Cat fan it was easy to embrace the Cardinals and the pride that town has in them (also easy to embrace horse racing and bourbon). I enjoy watching and cheering for the Cards as much as any of these pro teams, though I would never ever under any circumstances cheer for them if they were playing UT.
