Honestly, I was never on board. I knew the night they hired him from La Tech that he more than likely could not get the job done that needed to be done at the University of Tennessee. No disrespect, no dislike - I think he is a really nice man. I just do not think he has had or will have what it takes to be a major college Head Coach. Having said that, I did give him a chance and did support him as long as I could. The loss to Kentucky did it! It should be in every UT football coaches contract - "you lose to Kentucky or Vandy, just head straight to your office, pack up and leave" as losing to KY or VU is not acceptable for the University of Tennessee football program.

I was not on board with Butch Jones & Staff initially - thought it was possibly another questionable hire. After I have seen them work in recruiting and with all they are doing to bring UT / the Vol Family back together, I will be right there cheering as hard as ever. Been on the Vol Train since 1963 - no need to jump off now!! Go Vols!!

Miss State game for me. Butch Jones is a breath of fresh air! Love his work ethic and belief in staff & his own ability.
