    Can't stop laughing...I've been saying for years that the good guy appearance of Peyton and the Saints franchise was fake and there you have it...guilty as charged!

  • I'm not a Saints fan, actually pull for the Panthers but I don't think the punishment fits on this one. I get the fines, the lose of draft picks but I don't think suspending them for any amount of time really helps the NFL much. There has already been enough criticizm of Godell and the way he handles players and hits. I think he's getting a little over excited in this case. Bellicheck was caught cheating with Spygate, which he received a fine and lost draft picks but not suspension.

    I think this is excessive.

    I wonder how many DC/HC are calling players and former players telling them not to talk about this issue. I have trouble believing the Saints are the only team that had some type of bounty system in place.

  • One year suspension! WOW! How as an NFL team do you go without a head coach for a year? Or any level team for that matter. Rams will be seeking a new def coord since he has been suspended indefintely as well. The problem is that the NFL told them to stop and they didn't, according to reports.

  • Smart move by Goodell. Nip it in the bud hard, because this cannot happen in the NFL for a lot of reasons.

  • I think this situation do closely mirrors the Pearl situation it's crazy.. In all actuality it was just a BBQ, truth be told these bounties happen EVERYWHERE!! But the telling thing in this situation he was approached and the owner and NFL told him to put it to an end and he didn't. Then when he was questioned about it a few months ago he LIED about what he did and didn't know.. That is why Pearl got a 3 year show cause and why Peyton won't be coaching this season

  • The NFL had to take a tough stand on this. When are people gonna learn! The truth may not always set you free but a lie is always gonna come back and kick you in the teeth (or somewhere south of there)! This is gonna be interesting to watch in the weeks ahead.
