I think we should try and get Gruden as WR coach I mean he did run that fired football coaches thing..... Maybe Bill Cower would be the D coordinator or at least Dick Lebeau....... And I think that we should at least get Jason Garrett to coach QBs....maybe Belechek would coach special teams....and Peyton would probably make a better offensive coordinator with the way he studies film..... Time for the donors to pony up

  • Something is getting thick around here...can't tell if it's sarcasm or stupid. biggrin

I'm curious why you guys would include Russell in your lists of coaches to show the door? STs have been an improvement over last year. The kicking issues I place more on Darr and Palardy than on the staff, our coverage has been much better than last year. I haven't heard anything that indicates Russell's job is in any danger, am I missing something?

if they can't get Porter and I think he is a long shot, go for Chris Batey at Vanderbilt or Billy Napier at Alabama.

Both are outstanding recruiters and coaches. Batey should be easy to buy, Vandy can't match us $. Napier is in an adminstrative position at Bama.

Those are the first two picks I would make. Of course, if addiitonal staff changes on the way over there you most likely would wait to see what the mix of staff needs to be.

I just looked Beaty up on VU website and he was at ETSU when I was there. The spelling of the last name through me off.

I think all of us would love to have peyton as our qb coach, but it ain't happening next year.... Hopefully it will happen later on down the road, but peyton has a lot of career options once his playing career is over....

Potential coach, tv analyst, or businessman.... don't think its set in stone that he will be a coach.... he has a lot of different career paths he could pursue...

  • Nothing against Tee Martin but isn't this why so many people wanted Fulmer fired? We need to go after the best possible WR coach that we can. The money is there. If Tee is the best WR coach out there then fine. I am a VFL but we need the best coach not the best former VOL to coach.

I agree. but if everyone just wants former vols to be coaches, we can likely fill out a staff with fromer vols.

Carey Bailey - HC (has been head caoch at Howard)
Randy Sanders - OC/QB (experience with both)
    Tee Martin - WRs
    Jack Sells - TE
Jay Graham - RBs / RC
    Phillip Fulmer - OL

    John Chavis - DC
    Dale Jones - LB
    Marion Hobby - DL
    Kevin Steele - DBs

Here we go. All UT graduates..

Had to edit. shorted one coach

I hear John Nypaver is available...he is an extremely under the radar coach and avid supporter of the Vols who has claimed on multiple occasions that he could get the job done if given the opportuntity....he is a high risk low reward hire for Coach Dooley's consideration :-)

Welcome. Tried to +1 you for being a friend of KR and it would not let me. You owe him money or something.biggrin
