Never posted on here, no real ties to UT, but my wife just got off the phone with Cindy (they were college cheer teammates at UT) and she said Jon is in serious discussions with UT about becoming their next coach. Evidently there are a couple of things holding up the deal. 1) Hart doesn't have the $ to meet Gruden where he "wants" to be but she doesn't think that is the biggest detractor 2) Complete autonomy on assistant decisions, Hart said he would have to keep Sal for at least the completion of this contract; Hart is a big Sal fan and thinks he needs more time to implement. Of course, Gruden despite working with QB's recently is a huge "D" guy so this isn't sitting well. All in all Cindy is hopefully she can replant her roots back in Knoxville and spend more time with her family...could be a good sign, what do you vol fans think?

You guys can laugh at his post, but I can see where Cindy would want to get back to this area. I went to Maury Middle School and Jefferson County High School with her. She is from Chestnut Hill, near the Bush's plant, in Jefferson County. She still has family and, friends in Jefferson County. Her brother lives in upper East Tennessee. My question is how much influence she would have in the decision process. If Jon is always gone from home, why wouldn't he want her happy and with her family?? I think most of the people on the boards are looking at the football aspect of the move only, and family may be a larger factor than most would think. Happy wife, Happy family!!! Congratulations to Jimmy Owens, the Newport Nightmare, on his second Lucas Oil Late Model National Championship, We do have National Champions living here in East Tennessee!!!!
