Worst Tennessee team ever?

  • Yeah, two championships fair and square, so far that is. biggrin

  • I agree, I'm only 23 but I have to say Dooley has made me want to support his teams over the last 2 years a lot more than Fulmer ever did. I may be the only saying this but I still think we have a real shot at the East next year. My freshman year at UT we won the East and we may have been the best team but we sure didn't play like it on a consistent basis.

I have high hopes for this team next year with Bray, Hunter, Rogers, Rivera, Lane, and an ever improving offensive line, I even think Bray being hurt is a positive next year because it shows he needs to read the defenses better.

I know I'm probably in the minority on this but as long as we stay healthy I think It comes down to our game with South Carolina for who wins the east. I always thought Cutcliffe was the difference, and I appear to be right on that. If we can stop the big plays, run the ball, and if Bray can read defenses better next year then we'll be fine.

  • I'm 25 and this is the worst Tennessee team I've seen yet for some reason I support Tennessee's coach more than I ever have. Weird.

  • Thanks for the perspective old farts! Seriously, it's good to get reminded of the bigger picture. I studied History in college so I try to take a step back now and again. It's tough on us guys in our 20's...having to grow up used to such good teams. We'll be back. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Hey hey! Dont knock us cause we are in our twenties! Haha. This is the worst team we have ever seen!

This team isn't nearly as bad as 2008 and the dreaded "Clawfence"... stacked with talent and depth, we went 5-7, including a loss to WYOMING, ftlog. mrt

  • Bill Battle's final teams were the worse Tennessee teams I've ever seen. We had nothing on either side of the ball. One defensive end weighed 190 pounds and he was a senior. That was the worst. There was no hope. When Majors arrived the next year he said that he found hundreds of spools of film containing highlights of potential recruits that had never been opened.

  • I'm not convinced we are worse than 08. That 08 team would have been in a nail biter last weekend because they couldn't even score on bad teams.

I know what your saying, but that year I felt we had the talent to win, we just didn't have the offense to win!
