"Old School"! A strong defense wins championships!
If he were hired, there would be a major fan revolt in my opinion
Whenever I read "there will be a fan revolt" I automatically correct that to "the person writing this will make angry posts on a website."
Folks, if the new HC wins the first three games of the new year, ain't nobody gonna be revolting. The morning Gameday was in town everybody looooved the Dooley process. Simmah down.
Winning is what matters. Hiring a proven winner is what gets us there.
I like to have Gruden, maybe, but I think Fedora could take us to an upper tier team in 3 yrs if not before. You also would not have to give him the farm and the university to come here. I do not think anyone would draw more excitement than Grunden, but I think when it is all said and done, Fedora would be the one I believe would be so greatful to be at TN. and would get the job done.
What defense did Fedora run at NC this year? And, what defense(s) did he run at Southern Miss? As for his offense, I read that article someone posted in another thread, so that gave a really good understanding of his mindset on O. I'll ditto the comments above about "being a winner." There is something to be said for that - he's proven his merit as a HC.
The more I hear about this guy the more he's rising rapidly in my mind. It's absolutely stunning a team he took to a bowl went 0-12 this year. I hope it's not a situation where his recruits finally got on the field and they sucked.
The guy is a solid proven winner. I don't see a revolt. Just disappointment but that's going to happen with anyone not named Gruden.
If he were to keep Jay Graham on staff, which I would hope he would do, this seems like we could pull a lot of kids from the NC area, no?
Kevin, how is he as a recruiter?
