Hey guys, this is my first post so here it goes...
I am a life long UT fan who lives in North Carolina, and I have watched a lot of UNC football this season, and was impressed with Fedora and his offense. As many of you have been saying, his defense was very worrysome, and I would like to shed some light on what I saw of UNC's defense this season.
In addition to having co-defensive coordinators (which was weird), he ran a 4-2-5, which I had never watched before. I know the reasoning behind this defense is to have two "roamers", a bandit and a ram, as Fedora called them, to make plays and create turnovers to get his offense the ball as much as possible. The problem this year was though, in addition to not having that much talent in these roamer positions and the defense overall, was that a 4-2-5 only left six guys in the box a lot, and that's what really killed the Tar Heels' defense. In the Georgia Tech game, the triple option absolutely tore that defense up. If he came to UT, he would have to change his defense, especially playing the offenses in the SEC.
Sorry for the long post but just trying to give a take on Fedora's defense since I watched a good amount of Carolina football this year
