A lot of people felt like coaching turnover was a big reason why Majors wasn't a bigger winner. They didn't always leave for better jobs. Johnny had a reputation for running coaches off.

Majors could definitely recognize coaching talent. I think a lot of people would be surprised at the talented assistants he had here. But he could be brutal to those that couldn't cut it. I remember very distinctly standing next to him at a function in Atlanta and him laughing about how many car salesmen and insurance salesmen he had created from his coaching staffs.
