I've been to Memphis. I'm familiar with the social atmosphere. I'm not saying you're wrong in your dissection of my comment, but I really wish you were. I'd like to fit into Mr. King Jr's vision, but demonizing our thoughts and observations will just take us that much longer to achieve that goal.

Not on Netflix instant, but you can get it on Netflix.
It's the best television series ever made. I highly, highly recommend it. TV doesn't get any better.

I love the series, and decided to read the books, one after each season. Reading the first book added to my understanding and enjoyment of the first season and heightened my anticipation of season two. Mac is right -- they are long, but they are wonderfully written.
