Nah, he didn't earn that. He did eat one earlier, though, and he approves. I did something I NEVER do and bought a mix. Normally make everything from scratch, but I didn't have time. It feels so dirty to take shortcuts.

    Shortcuts...

  • I need to be updated on some of the insider, "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" stuff on here. I'm kind of afraid to ask on some of them, such as the "Rucker Rule". By the way, my 9 year old daughter told me the other day that she doesn't really like Justin Bieber any more. I asked her why, and she said, "I liked him when he first started, but now EVERYBODY likes him, so he's not cool anymore." I laughed at her and said, "Oh no! My daughter is a hipster!" She gave me a confused look, said "whatever" and walked away. Teenage years with her are gonna be rough, I can tell already....

Did you bring this weather with you, sir?

    This is turrible.

Looks like rain and nothing else this morning. Safe to say I didn't bring any rain with me on this trip...

The "Rucker Rule" basically is that every time Wes leaves town something big happens. There may be a little more to it but that's my understanding of it. And I have three daughters by the way and can confirm that the teenage years will in fact be rough.

It applies to every day life, too. "Hey, we can probably take a couple hours to run some errands... Oh, another coach is leaving? ...Nevermind." The Rucker Rule keeps life exciting.

  • My wife gave me Madden football for Christmas. Since it has the ability to import draft classes, I restarted my NCAA solo play dynasty.

I put in a few ground rules. Any non-conference team not ranked is played at the varsity level. Got to get those stats up against those guys and allows me to play backups.

Any SEC team or a non conference ranked 11-25 is played at the All American level.

Any SEC team or non conference ranked 10 or higher is a Heisman game.

I was fortunate, so to speak to have Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Arkansas not be ranked in the top 10 when I played them. I beat them all. I may bump all SEC teams to Heisman next season.

I did play Alabama on Heisman. Ranked #2, I went in with a steady diet of dive and off tackle and play fakes off of them. I did my best to outnumber them at the point of attack. I played not to lose on defense, trying to keep everything in front of me. I won, 28-14.

I would play them again in the SEC Championship. This time I was without Poole, Malik Jackson, and Austin Johnson (who I made my MLB). I won 29-22 on a crossing route to Hunter when Zach and Da'Rick Rogers picked the secondary and let Justin squirt free.

Thought I was going to lose that one.

I went on to the National Championship where I beat Wisconsin 38-21, also on Heisman. Wilson fumbled once inside the 20. Austin picked up the ball and outran the offense to the endzone. That put us up 31-21, when I could have very well been tied or losing if Wisconsin holds on to the ball.

Wilson came out throwing, down 10. He took the team down to the 15 before Austin intercepts a pass and rumbles 90 yards for the score.

Felt good, made me wish the guys who played a prominent part of my game could have contributed: Janzen, Justin, Herman.

I had to talk Devrin out of transferring. Surprisingly, I didn't use Arnett much and he still didn't leave, lol. Prentiss, however, did go to the NFL.

Which takes me to finally getting to import a draft class! UT only has two representatives in the draft class: Poole and Waggner.

  • On a different note: I mentioned elsewhere that I watched the Montana game over last night.

I was disappointed the Vol Network didn't include the entire game.

Thought about how exciting we looked. Thought about how we could tell we were going to have problems running the ball. I didn't think we handled the pressure well at times in the game, either. Defense seemed antsy, a little out of position...anxious or tentative.

  • Shocked!--went to my sons kindergarten registration....$4510.00 later I am asking what is all that for? then the package has $150.00 for uniforms, $50.00 for gym cloths, and $100.00 per month for the after school late pick up? This I guess is more of a rant than a thought but when or where was I when school got so expensive???

Unless they're a) guaranteeing your kid will get into advanced Placement classes by 3rd grade, or b) the uniforms are made of hand woven cotton and silk blends in the USA, something's off here. I paid less than that for a year of college at Alaska-Anchorage...

  • I would never further ruin my already-turrible reputation by doing this, but I've often thought of starting the football recruit equivalent of fake artist Nat Tate and seeing how many bloggers would poach it and do their own evaluations of the fake recruit.

The thought of basement bloggers evaluating a prospect who doesn't exist makes me laugh.

Ever had Martin's? A local chain in the Atlanta metro area? THAT'S what a biscuit is supposed to taste like.

This might be one of the funniest SEC basketball photos I've ever seen.

Comes from last night's Florida-Bama game in T-Town.
