i'm looking forward to zach rogers progression this year

  • i think people underestimate him honestly bc he's not flashy....he could be a very good 3rd down receiver for us....people want to talk about arnett but no one knows how good he will be....also you know i'm rooting for guys like z rogers, propst, palardy, kerbyson, downs, etc...

  • please don't make this about race...dale ellis was my favorite basketball player and he's not white...i don't understand the making fun of white athletes though

  • Someone has to step up for the Vols as a third-down receiver and take the Gerald Jones' role. They NEED someone to take that role. Maybe Zach could be that guy. He'll be one to watch this spring, for sure. He needs a good head start on Arnett.

agree...some people are underestimating losing jones and moore especially on 3rd downs...we really struggled all year on 3rd downs until jones came back in the lsu game...hunter and d rogers will be great wrs but we need another guy to step up to get those crucial 3rd downs

  • I think its going to had to zach to see the field a lot this year with drogers, hunter, arnett, milton, and mtsu transfer williams (remember everyone raved about him last spring/summer) and vincent dallas. He gives us some solid plays and then seem to disappear for games at a time last year. Be interesting to see if he gets a chance to step it up this spring

milton and arnett haven't proven anything yet...rogers has proven a little...i'm not one of those fans that hypes/expects too much out of guys who have never set foot on the field yet...we've had too many busts in the past...look out for vincent dallas as well...he's an early enrollee and supposed to be a good athlete

disagree completely. ZR83 made it on the field as WR3 early last season and although the frequency of his appearances on the field declined as the season went on he remained WR5 at the worst. as we're losing WR1 and 2 from 2010, he begins the spring as a default in the immediate rotation. Williams, Milton, and Dallas are the only WRs on campus right now that could even make a push to unseat ZR83. also, we see this every year, and Dallas and Arnett are no different. already some high expectations for two undersized WRs that have yet to learn this playbook. don't be surprised if it takes them a little while to adjust, if at all by season's end.

however, both frosh WRs are very talented - Arnett is fundamentally strong and Dallas is a quick-twitch athlete who needs to find ways to get the ball in his hands.

also, don't count out the TEs as guys who we look to for under 6+ yard situations. many teams, especially in the pros, love the TE at these times.

interesting spring/summer/fall story line to keep a close eye on for sure. I'm with VFF on this one... don't count out Captain Zach Sparrow.

Hey, I hope your right. But I just don't see it. Staff gave him a lot of chances at the first of last season and he didn't capitalize. It no coincidence he basically disappeared last half of the season. I'm not couting him out or a hater of rogers, just saying the odds are against him against better athletes.

  • Rogers will get his chance. He has made some plays, and he has missed some so its anyone's guess. He has good wheels and has shown an ability to get open. I hope he succeeds. I think the coaches will get the right players on the field.

    Agent Orange

  • Both of the rogers were busts. Plain and simple.

  • I thought both were 4 star prospects. I never said they were bad players. Any player who gets a d1 scholarship is good but i dont remember austin rogers helping us out alot and all i can remember from zach is him dropping open passes and on volquest it says austin rogers never even surpassed 1000 yards in his career with a total of 4 tds in his career.

  • I dont see how that is considered really exceeding expectations though. Especially since he didnt catch a td or even break 200 recieving yards his senior year. This is all opinion but i just dont see him as a player that was a solid contributor at all.

I think all too often WRs are judged by things they can't control — OL and QB play are vital to their success. Why do you think all of Peyton's WRs look like studs? He's not lucky. He's Peyton Manning.

  • thats true. I guess since that was probably the worst year of college football ever for me. I just dont like giving anyone on that team props lol

    StlCardinals311

  • btw, i read that this may be justin hunter's last year and after it he will only focus on track for the olympics. Do you have any info about that?

Don't understand that. He potentially can make a lot more money in the nfl than at track. But, if that's his passion and dream, go for it.

    wataugavol

  • yea the way he is going its not crazy to think he will be first rounder. He must really love track or really hate school
