And who does swan man think we get to replace CBP? Any names from a mid major school because thats all we ever get. Probably go thru 2-3 more head coaches before we luck out again. When CBP leaves, the men's program will tank for several years. All these people that think we can get a "big name" coach are with Dorothy in the land of Oz.

Agree billbattlevol, if pearl gets fired it's because the sanctions will be worse than we all feared. No big name coach will come to a program on probation and short on schollys.

I don't know how anyone could actually predict a good percentage of pearl being gone or not. The NCAA is very unpredictable, and with the rash of other news coming out about Oregon, Baylor, and Ohio St.... It's going to be either a long offseason for a few schools.

Lying to the NCAA while you're on the job just doesn't cut it here. If Pearl is indeed gone, I'm guessing this decision was made a long time ago. One of my good friends I goto school with here, his parents donate quite a bit of money to UT (I got to sit in the Tennessee Terrace every home game last season woooo!) and the first thing I asked his dad was whether or not he believed Pearl would make it......and he said no. I know it probably didn't mean much and was probably strictly his opinion, but I always remembered that because I imagine people like him (I assure you, this guy is very successful) call the shots at UT. He still isn't working under a contract so you never know whats gonna happen.

Swan's a good dude but he doesn't have any inside info on this one here. In fact, I spoke to his "inside guy" who told him about Kiffin and he said there's nothing new with the Pearl stuff.

Just thinking logically, Pearl would have been gone a long time ago if UT was going to fire him. There's nothing new that has popped up over the last 6 months except for the bump that UT is going to vehemently fight. We, as UT fans, need to just sit back and be patient for the next 6 months. Nothing is going to happen until we hear the penalties.
