Mike Florio and Dan Patrick talked about making the field wider on his show today. Current width is 53 1/3 yards. How would you feel about it being wider?

Dont like it...would make playing defense even harder. Speed would become an even bigger factor. Size and strength would not be worth as much.

The game is already slow enough (time wise) and too high scoring. Start adding another 6 or 7 yeards to the width of the field its just going to make it worse. Talk about consistently seeing 4-4.5 hours of a football game.
What was his purpose, safety?

Safety is correct. I looked up soccer dimensions. Comes in at 60 YD.. Football is 53 1/3
